A few days ago, we wrote about the fact that the organizers of the patina Szeged event decided not to organize the Szeged Fish Festival this year.
It wasn't profitable, so they canceled the Szeged Fish Festival
Frank Sándor, the Venice Prize-winning master chef and the main organizer of the event, told Szeged365 that they considered holding the festival and decided it was not worth it, as it was not profitable last year.
Every year, the Mátyás Huszár quay hosted the Fish Festival, but at the same time, as part of the program, residents also had a potluck at the Partfürdő. The Szeged news portal found out that the traditional Szeged International Tisza Fish Festival will not be organized on the wharf in 2024, but there will be a Fishing Family Day at the Partfürdő again this year.
Halfőző Family Day was an integral part of the festival before.
The event, like last year, is organized this year by the Szeged Rendezvény-és Mediaközpont Nonprofit Kft. led by Erika Kolonics. On September 7, 2024, for one day, the fish chefs can once again compare their skills, and everyone can prepare the delicious fish soup in a pot by themselves.
The news was also confirmed by Sándor Frank himself, who indicated that at the event they will take a role in judging the cooking competition at most.
