Most of the 163 people who died were elderly and chronically ill, so the number of those who died rose to 16,790. The number of recovered people is constantly increasing, currently 349,530 people, but the number of active infected people has also risen to 141,307 people. 8,897 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, of which 989 are on ventilators.
The vaccination program is going smoothly and according to schedule, Hungary is already second in the EU vaccination ranking list.
GPs were given the AstraZeneca vaccine this week and the Operative Tribe has asked them to continue vaccinating registered elderly people who have not yet been vaccinated. The hospital vaccination points have Szputnyik and Pfizer vaccines, which are also mainly used to vaccinate registered elderly people referred by general practitioners.
Chronic patients under the age of 60 will also be vaccinated with AstraZeneca at hospital vaccination points until Sunday, those affected received an invitation via SMS.
