The news was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade on his social media page. Péter Szijjártó said that the Chinese vaccine arrived 43 days earlier than the deadline agreed in the contract, so they can start vaccinating people with it that much sooner. "We win forty-three days, we win lives and health," he emphasized.
He added that the government machine that brought the vaccines "will not have a receipt" in the coming days and weeks either: it will soon head east again to bring hundreds of thousands more vaccines to Hungary.
The head of the ministry said that the defense against the pandemic is taking place at full speed. "It's clear that the virus won't let up," he added.
Péter Szijjártó said: every day there are news from European countries about another attack of the virus.
"That is why it is extremely important that the defense against the pandemic matches the speed of the attack. This requires an inoculum and vaccination. The sooner the vaccines arrive, the sooner the Hungarian doctors can administer them to the Hungarian people, and thus more Hungarian people can become protected," emphasized the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in the video.
