The modernization of the Chain Bridge begins today, so the area around the bridge heads and the bridge sidewalk will be closed, so pedestrians will not be able to cross the bridge until the renovation is completed - in 2023. According to the announcement of the Budapest Transport Center, Lánchida will be closed to car traffic in mid-June. Until then, you can travel for free on BKK's day and night buses between Clark Ádám tér and Széchenyi István tér - in both directions.
The BKK also announced that the citizens of the capital can vote until March 31 on which literary quote related to the Chain Bridge should appear on the interface related to the renovation.
