Businesses that have recently been forced to temporarily close due to the coronavirus can apply for the sectoral wage subsidy for this month until the end of March.
This was announced by Sándor Bodó, the State Secretary responsible for employment policy of the ITM, who mentioned, among other things, that mainly companies dealing with retail trade and other services should submit their demands to the government offices as soon as possible, so that the payments can be made as quickly as possible. He added that the level of the sectoral wage subsidy is 50 percent of the gross wage, but no more than 150 percent of the mandatory minimum wage , i.e. HUF 251,100 gross per month. The applicant employer undertakes to pay wages to the employee and not to terminate the employment relationship by notice or mutual agreement until April 30.
