On the 140th anniversary of Béla Bartók's birth, the Szent Efrém Men's Choir will perform with Balázs Dongó Szokolay in the online series Hagyomány Háza SzínpadON.
The Szent Efrém Male Choir's 70-minute concert theater performance Bartók in Motion invites you to travel through time. The piece was created based on the concept of Tamás Bubnó
In the jubilee program, Bartók's men's choirs and the folk songs that frame them form a tale showing the stations and spiritual stations of a man's life. Snapshots taken at the milestones of awareness, meeting the weaker sex, struggle, looking back and death are displayed. With the Bartók in Motion concert theater performance, the Szent Efrém Male Choir aims to present these lesser-known masterpieces in an enjoyable way that is accessible to everyone.
The performance was originally planned to be presented by the Szent Efrem Male Choir on September 26, 2020 in New York - the last stage of Béla Bartók's life - the 75th anniversary of his death. The presentation, which was canceled due to the epidemic situation, will therefore take place online on March 25, 2021, the 140th anniversary of Bartók's birth, in the House of Traditions.
