Hungarian debt management received another recognition: the Capital Eye portal awarded a special prize to the Hungarian state's successful green samurai bond issue last year, the Minister of Finance announced on Saturday on his Facebook page.
According to Mihály Varga's post, the portal highlighted in its publication Best Deals of 2020 that the Hungarian bond issue also attracted the interest of new investors.
The work of the Public Debt Management Center was recently awarded by the Japanese trade press and a research institute, he added.
He explained that last year, as the first foreign sovereign issuer, Hungary successfully entered the yen green bond market: one third of the bonds were green bonds, and Hungary will use the amount received from them for environmental protection and sustainability purposes.
