There is something charming about the young Marxists posting a red star on the headquarters of the far-right Fidesz.

Anna Orosz and Márton Tompos, Momentum politicians, and Bernadett Szél, an independent member of parliament, stuck posters with red stars on the Fidesz headquarters in Lendvay Street - all of this was reported by the party in a Facebook video.

Russian Anna

"We protest against the fact that the Hungarian government wants to use HUF 540 billion to bring the elite training university of the Chinese Communist Party to Budapest," began Anna Orosz. According to the Momentum board member, this amount is more than the entire Hungarian higher education receives from the budget, and they want to build the Chinese campus on the site of the Student City, which would provide high-quality housing for thousands of Hungarian students and teachers.

He added: "At Momentum, we see this as the government putting the interests of the Chinese Communist Party ahead of the
interests of Hungarian students, teachers and universities."

Márton Tompos

According to Márton Tompos, the example of Fudan University is just another chapter in the series in which the Orbán government does not look at Hungary's interests, but at the Chinese Communist Party. "The same thing happened with the Chinese vaccine purchases, with the Budapest-Belgrade railway, and it's still happening now.

What happens if the country cannot repay this loan?

Then we may end up in a tax trap, as a result of which taxes have to be raised and Hungarian lands may end up in Chinese hands. We can't want that, so let's say no to Fudan University," he said.

According to Bernadett Szél, while in 2014 the Parliament could at least vote on borrowing to such a large extent, it cannot even do so today. "The Budapest-Belgrade railway line and Fudan University are brothers. These two projects are Chinese colonization in Hungary itself. One thing is certain: Hungary will not be the toy of any great power.

We insist on our souvenirs and safety. Fidesz can no longer guarantee these," explained the member of parliament.

In the end, the politicians and members of TizenX pasted posters depicting a red star and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on the Fidesz headquarters.
