László Kiss, the mayor of Óbuda DK, transformed an important family support, which was decided by one person in the absence of the general assembly.
Previously, the one-time support for newborns in Óbuda was a subject's right, but following the decision of the left-wing mayor, this no longer automatically applies to all families, reports Magyar Nemzet. Although this support accounted for a minimal percentage of the Óbuda budget, it seems that the Gyurcsány party leadership needs even this minuscule amount.
This form of family support was created by the former Fidesz district administration for all families in the third district where a baby was born.
The previous municipality led by Balázs Bús helped the families with purchase vouchers worth twenty-five thousand forints, however, according to the new procedure, this support can only be created after submitting a detailed income statement application, which is judged by the municipality.
Obviously, the Gyurcsányist city administration does not aim to continue Fidesz's family-friendly policy at the district level, so they think that this small support will be better placed in their pockets...
This is not the first time that the local government led by László Kiss dazzles the old-timers with a money-disappearing stunt; in a recently published article, we wrote in detail about how the left-liberal district administration, which has been in power since 2019,
he managed to eliminate about 70 percent of the amount intended for investments
in addition, significant funds were withdrawn from the culture, social and health sectors: 55 million from the renovation of kindergartens, 31.5 million from the personal allowances of kindergarten workers, 190 million from Óbuda Sport és Szabadidő Kft., 208 million from the Óbuda Cultural Center , they took HUF 70 million from the Danubia Orchestra, approximately HUF 70 million from Esrönyos, HUF 51.5 million from the Óbuda Museum, HUF 20 million from the Óbuda Library, and more than HUF 36.7 million from the Óbuda Society; by the way, it was also possible to "save" 286 million on the supervision of public areas. 888.hu quotes Magyar Nemzet.
