In the past few days, the rights protection organization drew attention to the fact that, in its opinion, the protection card - which in principle also allows you to visit various public spaces - contrary to its name, does not prove protection at all.

"Everyone receives the card, even days after their first vaccination, but at that time their protection has not yet developed. The ID card and government communication lulls people into a false sense of security. However, protection only develops after the second vaccination, so the card could only be issued after that".

The TASZ also emphasized that due to the quickly issued ID card, the legal argument that allows public spaces to be visited with the ID card falls into disrepair.

"If card holders are also contagious, the only basis for differentiation will be who has a card and who does not. However, this kind of discrimination is no longer acceptable, it is discriminatory and therefore against the constitution"

they wrote.

On the other hand, according to Miklós Rusvai, immunity is around 50-70 percent after the first vaccination, and this develops in the first two weeks after each vaccination. with HírTv the virologist even said that the chance of transmission of the infection is reduced to a minimum.

Two-thirds of the participants in the national consultation on reopening, 65 percent, said that those with a protection card should be exempted from some restrictions

- stated Csaba Dömötör, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Cabinet Office.

And Angela Merkel already indicated in February that all EU countries agree on the need for a digital identity card proving protection, which is planned to be introduced in Germany and Austria before the summer.

Gergely Gulyás stated in relation to TASZ's call that

the basis of the constitutional regulation is that there is a way to differentiate if it is not arbitrary. And in this specific case, the distinction is obviously to protect the health of others.

Finally, he added that the use of the protection card will not be a unique, domestic feature, as countless European countries are announcing similar rules.
