More than 4,000 expectant mothers have already been supported by nursery schools

Parents with young children can still apply for the nursery school subsidy of up to HUF 40,000 per month. In the past year and a half, more than four thousand people have benefited from the opportunity provided by the program. The nearly HUF 8 billion available at the national level can help a total of up to 7,000 expectant mothers to return to the world of work, said Sándor Bodó, the State Secretary responsible for employment policy at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM).

In a statement sent to MTI on Sunday, the department explained: as a result of the government's measures, the labor market situation of women with small children improved continuously until the outbreak of the pandemic.
In ten years, the number of women engaged in gainful activities in addition to raising a child under the age of 6 increased by a fifth, and their employment level thus rose from 65 to 72 percent. For expectant mothers to start working, it is essential that they can take care of their children's daytime care in a way that is easily accessible and in line with their financial means. The government is constantly working on the development of the institutional system supporting the supervision of children under the age of 3 during the day, and on increasing the number of nurseries and nurseries.
The financial support provided for the workplace or family daycare fee provides temporary help to Hungarian families until the limit is exhausted, but at the latest until the summer of 2022. Sándor Bodó said that parents returning to work can receive a maximum of HUF 40,000 monthly support, who place their children in a family or workplace daycare, not maintained by the municipality, during the period of work.
Parents raising children older than 20 weeks can participate in the program if they live in a settlement or district where there is no municipally maintained nursery care, or if the number of applicants exceeds the available places, and they also have a bank account and access to the customer portal. A parent can receive support for several children. If the fee paid for the placement of the child is less than HUF 40,000, then the amount of the subsidy is the same as the amount of the nursery school's monthly fee, if it is more, the parents only have to pay the difference. The request for support must be submitted to the Hungarian State Treasury through a specially created interface on the organization's website.
