Béla Merkely expects that there will be no fourth wave in Hungary, which would be the best possible news, as some people fear exactly that.
"There will be no fourth wave, neither now nor in September. A mutation that would cause a repeated epidemic in Hungary cannot develop, because the rate of infection is very high, and the rate of vaccination is also very high."
"They were vaccinated not only with one type of vaccine, but with many types of vaccines. I am glad that Hungarian protection is not based on just one vaccine, as in many countries. If anyone tries to get away with this, i.e. without vaccination, they are undertaking an impossible task."
According to Merkely, it is only a matter of time before those who do not want vaccination become infected, which can have very serious health consequences. "There will be no COVID in 2022. In Hungary, it won't even happen in the summer."
More than 3 million people have already received their second vaccination in Hungary.
"There will be cases of COVID, mainly among those who do not take the vaccine, they can get it while traveling abroad or anywhere, but those who are vaccinated, have undergone and are vaccinated, are protected to such an extent that there cannot be a serious story."
"We also know that the more time passes after vaccination, the safer we are. I'm sure the vaccination will take much longer than half a year."
Nevertheless, a third vaccination may be necessary after that!
