When someone is given an important, grateful, but difficult task that tests their abilities, they report: "creating a community seemed like an exciting challenge "; " this role is challenge "being a parent is the biggest challenge in my life". The quoted statements are, in Hungarian: an unusual (or a human-testing, testing my skills, skill, and competence ) opportunity. Or: trial, test of strength, ordeal, responsibility.
We could cite hundreds of examples of this incessant and rampant use of the English sport term challenge It is used, among other things, to indicate a problem (to be solved), a difficulty (to be overcome): "In the world's most deprived region, poverty challenge "Snow and ice are challenges on the roads that make life miserable even for experienced drivers"; "I felt that talking to him a challenge , while his love and care for me was unquestionable"; "one of the challenges we all face in life: exhaustion". And a "wonderful" example: from the internet: " using the toilet challenge
More recently, this expression is used by people who talk about difficult situations that put physical and mental strength to the test, and about discomforts that are hard to bear and accompanied by suffering: " is a challenge "; "The other challenge is noise"; "The heat is a challenge"; "The biggest challenge is the cold."
It is increasingly used in the negative form: "If you really love someone, is not a challenge to be faithful"; "Buying winter tires is no longer a challenge "; "Presentation is no longer a challenge ". In Hungarian: it doesn't cause (has) problems, it's not difficult, it's easy, it's smooth; simple, natural (task), etc.
often associated with another buzzword ( serious ): "Breastfeeding is also a serious challenge , not just pregnancy"; "Besides collecting savings, it is also a serious challenge not to spend it prematurely"; " a serious challenge is the unusually low temperature of the wastewater to be cleaned".
How many times does the speaker use two other buzzwords to decipher the lexeme in question, creating a sprawling expression: " Managing my professional tasks is a serious challenge In these three sentences bleeding from wounds, the ( serious) challenge can be replaced by this precise and expressive definition: an opportunity with a stimulating effect. Also, e.g. with these: (huge, decisive, big) chance; measurement and evaluation (the measurement is accurate in those communications in which the public judgment and evaluation of the activity is also important). the present is unnecessary in the quoted communication. Here, an old and a more recent buzzword entered "marriage" ( a serious challenge ), and they were joined by an unnecessary - in this context - omitted third word (the present ).
This "trio of words" is used more and more by the media and public discourse, so it sometimes produces a smile-inducing message.
He often does this on topics related to transportation, health, and lifestyle: "Not only stopping, changing direction, i.e. turning, is also a serious challenge on ice"; "caring for an elderly parent in addition to work is a serious challenge "; "the first diaper change is often a serious challenge "; " wearing stilettos is a serious challenge "every year it is a serious challenge to choose a meaningful summer pastime"; " can be a serious challenge if our partner and I do not have ". (Here, in addition to other elements that need to be explained, the possessive verb must also be replaced. The end of the statement is correct: ... if the level of our sexual appetite differs from that of our partner.)
This extended expression also frequently appears in the social, economic, cultural, etc. press. in topics: " Diagnosing fungal infections is already a serious challenge " it is a serious challenge for the parent to calm down the hysterical kids over the strange gadget"; "The analysis of accumulated data is a serious challenge "; "everyday living is a serious challenge for him"; " It is a serious challenge to portray two vampire characters"; "The preservation of monuments is always a serious challenge to restore a palace or a castle".
And this objectionable wording has crept into gastronomy as well, the media expands, e.g. it is a serious challenge for our body to extract water from it"; "Eating a real English breakfast is a serious challenge for both the stomach and its host". Objects are now also suffering subjects of this forced production of expression: "The line management of the almost constantly wind-blown track is a serious challenge for the brakes, tires and engines alike." More precisely: it burdens (and maybe wears ) the body, the stomach, and thoroughly tests quality of objects and tools (and possibly wears and damages them).
In each of the mentioned examples, the serious challenge word structure can be replaced with the above-mentioned (or other) meaningful words, and the present verb must be deleted.
It also happens that the challenge the word task itself : "The challenge is simple: create traditional or digital pages based on the sketch"; "the challenge : more than 1000 km of walking"; "the challenge is simple: create traditional or digital pages based on the sketch"; "An urgent challenge is to solve passenger transport in our big cities". This is unstylish, even sloppy sentence production that repeats trite buzzwords.
tasks the media and public speaking is to get used to the use of monotonous language, e.g. to avoid heaps of " challenges " ... As we have seen, this too - like any other trite buzzword - can be replaced by many more meaningful and precise expressions.
