The Counter-Terrorism Center prevented the 21-year-old Hungarian man who claims to be an Islamist from carrying out explosions in Hungary. One of TEK's liquidation units caught the terrorist on Tuesday, and the explosive devices were also seized.
According to a statement from the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office , a self-proclaimed Islamist Hungarian man was detained for preparing a terrorist act. The statement written by the Chief Prosecutor of the Capital City, Tibor Ibolya, explains that the Capital Investigative Prosecutor's Office, as a result of the operation carried out yesterday, interrogated and then detained a 21-year-old man as a suspect, who, according to the well-founded suspicion, was preparing to commit terrorist acts aimed at intimidating the population of Europe in the territory of Hungary.
In a case initiated on the basis of a report from the Anti-Terrorist Center, the Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office carried out the operation with the cooperation of TEK. The Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office produced the man and interrogated him as a suspect due to the well-founded suspicion of preparation for a terrorist act carried out with the crime of manslaughter and the crime of misuse of explosives for the purpose of intimidation of the population, planned in advance, for nefarious reasons and purposes, to the detriment of several people, endangering the lives of several people.
The Metropolitan Prosecutor's Office made a motion to arrest the suspect. The investigating judge will decide on the issue of ordering the arrest today.
According to the news, TEK's evidence is so weighty that it not only supports the well-founded suspicion, but may also be decisive in the future criminal trial.
In addition to the explosive device seized from the man, it is believed that the authorities may also have video and audio recordings, which document the activities of the man who professes extremist Islamist views and is preparing for a series of bombings.
