Previously, there was no example of a serious economic crisis not being followed by austerity. The National Association of Large Families supports the steps announced on Wednesday to help the country restart, as all of them are based on further support for families, while all previous support and discounts will remain.
During the pandemic, many families - in addition to the extraordinary physical and psychological stress - also had to tap into their financial reserves. The family-friendly measures taken during the epidemic, such as, among other things, the extension of family subsidies, the suspension of childcare and CSOK loan repayments, the general loan repayment moratorium, the home renovation program, and the suspension of evictions and foreclosures meant a way out for many families.
It has a significant message if families also benefit from the results of a strengthening economy.
For parents raising children, the possibility of paying back the personal income tax and the extension of the credit moratorium just announced can both contribute to the strengthening of families, just like the actors of economic life. As Hungary's largest family organization, we welcome and support this endeavor. In the past decade, family support tied to the performance of the economy has lived up to expectations, so we can be confident that it will be successful this time as well.
