Economic policy should focus on supporting investments, creating jobs and replacing lost capacities; the budget must provide the resources for this - said Finance Minister Mihály Varga at the online press conference following the V4 meeting of the Finance Ministers in Warsaw on Tuesday.
He underlined: now is not the time for reserves, but for a restart, withdrawing subsidies too early would slow down the recovery and pose a serious risk to families, companies and the economy as a whole.
Even with economic protection measures approaching 30 percent of GDP, the deficit in Hungary was in line with the EU average, and the public debt ratio remained well below that, he noted.
