The local riders are becoming more and more professional, they say: it is a huge honor that they can represent Székelyföld at the National Race after the qualifiers. The big competition will take place in October in Budapest, on Hősök square.

The galloping track was already perfected in the early hours of the morning. The brass players were also ready, and the riders were excitedly waiting for the opening of the tenth Székely Vágta parade.

The jubilee horse race was hosted by György Sepsiszent, and this time the venue was the Oriaspince-tetó, the ancient rowan tree hill close to the city.

"Now, for the tenth time, we are organizing a competition that did not really have a tradition in Székelyföld before, so the introduction of galloping competitions, the introduction of the knowledge of this experience in Székelyföld, this was actually the main objective of the organizing team, when ten years ago we agreed to We are organizing preliminary races in Székelyföld," said János Demeter, chief organizer.

Due to the epidemic situation, no cultural programs were organized this year. But after the epidemic situation, the locals were also happy that they could organize the Székely Vágta again. The stands were limited to 1,000 people, and the participation of spectators was tied to a vaccination certificate.

The audience was able to support a strong field, and already at the end of the qualifying races it was revealed that four horse-rider pairs could represent Székelyföld at the autumn National Show in Budapest.

"The people of Székely always want to be there, right from the beginning, since the National Vágta took place and the possibility of competing across the border came, right, the people of Székely wanted to be there constantly. It is quite certain that it is a very important thing for Hungarians, and this is one of the messages, the most important message of the National Vágta, they are very enthusiastic, they prepare for it and they are always there with full heart," emphasized András Zajzon, the organizer of the pre-vágta of the National Vágta .

This year's champion of the Székely Vágta became the rider of Farkaslaka settlement.

"I would also like to successfully compete in the national canter for Hargita county, as a Székely, to achieve a result," said Csaba Tamás, winner of the Székely Vágta 2021.

The riders from Székelyföld say that they are already preparing for the National Slaughter from Sunday in order to achieve a worthy place in the field of Heroes.
