Within the framework of the Boldog Özséb Program, the church and the other renovated facilities were blessed on the occasion of the official handover held in the parish garden of Maríanostra on July 7, by Róbert Róbert Antal Puskás, provincial governor.
In 2020, the Order of Paul commemorated the 750th anniversary of the death of the founder of the order, Blessed Özséb Özséb of Esztergom.
Within the framework of the Boldog Özséb Program, which was implemented with the support of the government and lasted for several years, the churches and monasteries of the Pauline order throughout Hungary were renewed, and cultural programs deepening the social embeddedness of the Pauline order will take place: the publication of books and CDs, a Pauline exhibition in the Hungarian National Museum etc.
Thanks to the Blessed Özséb Program, a completely renovated church in Márianostra awaits visitors. The Mária Lak community building, the parish building were renovated, the parish garden was transformed, where new car and bus parking spaces were established.
Taking into account energy saving and environmental awareness, a solar system was installed at the shrine. The calvary in Marianostra has also been renewed - together with the chapel and open-air mass place. The stations received pictures and inscriptions, and the statues were restored.
The exterior facade of the Marianostra basilica was renovated, and the repair of the organ was also completed.
The project elements in Mariánostra were realized in nearly two years with state aid, within the framework of the Boldog Özséb Program.
Among others present at the handover ceremony on July 7 were María Ostra Mayor Tamara Burikné Moóri, Parliamentary State Secretary Bence Rétvári, Miklós Soltész State Secretary for Church and Ethnic Relations.
During the ceremony, performer Annamária Sudár, responsible for the cultural part of the Boldog Özséb Program and moderator of the event, said in her welcome speech: the young King Louis the Great founded the monastery in Marianostra in 1352, and later he spent more and more time in Nostra, among the Pauline monks.
In 1382, the last year of the king's reign, the Pauline monks left Marianostra for Czestochowa, where they took part in the founding of the monastery that is today the center of the Pauline Order.
Parliamentary State Secretary Bence Rétvári, the region's member of parliament, pointed out: it is easy to love the people of Pálos, since they are also Hungarians, Christians, and have given hope even in hopeless times. The people of Paul carry the message of peace, and this peace is also the basis of religious freedom, which value is an increasingly urgent task for us to protect these days, said the politician.
