About 1,300 winning applicants will receive HUF 21 billion in two tenders of the Hungarian village program, the results of which will be posted on kormany.hu on Thursday, Vajszlón, the government commissioner responsible for the development of modern settlements, announced at a press conference.
Alpár Gyopáros said: the small settlements can spend the subsidy on the development of municipal properties, including the replacement of roofs and windows, facade renovation, minor exterior and interior reconstructions, as well as the salary costs of community organizers and the purchase of equipment necessary to serve events.
Through one of the tenders, it is possible to reconstruct village houses that perform other functions besides the mayor's office, as well as libraries, community spaces, and create service apartments, he added.

out of the 14 tenders announced this year, the results have already been announced in nine, and in the case of the remaining five, this will take place in the coming weeks.
The government commissioner reported that he attended mayor meetings in Sásd, Kétújfalu and Vajszló on Thursday. He called the latter an iconic place, recalling that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán spoke here for the first time after the 2018 elections about the Hungarian village program with the aim of bringing the quality of life of those living in small settlements closer to that of the urban population.
The program has been extremely successful: 22,000 families have applied for the village family home building allowance worth more than HUF 100 billion since its launch two years ago, 3,000 kilometers of secondary road network development is taking place within the framework of the village road fund, and this will be extended by another 1,500 kilometers to the approved next year's budget according to, he said.
Alpár Gyopáros highlighted that - open to the market sphere - a tender was announced to save village small shops, as well as to support micro-enterprises operating in the villages.
The government commissioner also spoke about the fact that in 2019 and 2020, winning tenders worth HUF 130 billion were announced, the popularity of which among small towns, parishes and civil organizations is due to the fact that they can finance activities and small investments that other domestic or not supported by European Union tenders.
Csaba Nagy (Fidesz), the region's parliamentary representative, expressed his joy that the Hungarian village program has visible results in the settlements, and that the funds necessary for its continuation have been provided in the central budget for 2022.
The program fills a gap, and there has not been an initiative of similar content and magnitude in Hungary in the last 30-40 years

László Őri (Fidesz-KDNP), the chairman of the Baranya County Assembly, said: in the next seven-year EU budget cycle, the applications for the development of larger settlements, micro-regions and district centers of the Regional and Settlement Development Operational Program Plus will be well complemented by the applications of the Hungarian village program.
