No one can dispute that the Fidesz-KDNP Christian-conservative government has significantly strengthened the positions of our country in the past 11 years. Yes, Hungary continues to grow stronger!
By the beginning of 2010, the left-wing governments of the past, who were forever nodding and flattering towards Brussels, who did not trust the voters of their own people in the least, and who, as opposition, still try to hope for their legitimacy from some superpower (these are old reflexes, see János Kádár's comrades in Moscow!) And today - when their fallen prime minister organized their vanguard again - they keep chanting that Fidesz has ruined the country.
However, they could wake up from their Sleeping Beauty dream and then see how the government is trying to raise the country that they dragged into the depths of colonialism with enormous effort and actual results.
Of course, there is no Canaan flowing with milk and honey. In fact, there is no Western European standard of living. And of course there is poverty, and let's not fool ourselves, there will always be! The question is, can you give hope, a chance? I think that work instead of aid, free meals and textbooks for children, unprecedented help for families on a historical scale, meanwhile the consolidation of the indebted country, sensible circulation of money instead of the tax press, reduction of loan interest rates, strategic sectors vulnerable to the interests of foreign capital (gas, electricity, water, oil) back into state hands, thereby protecting the population, are all results that even the opposition should acknowledge.
But of course: for the left-wing forces of the European Union, which are essentially in the majority in Brussels, it would be much more convenient for a Hungarian leadership that can push through the occupation of the economic and financial markets, the suppression of wages, the new privatization or the favorite their ideologies, especially fashionable gender issues.
Hungary has not only become a strong and purposeful country from within, but through the V4 and European right-wing movements, it has managed to form a counterpoint that focuses on national sovereignty, national interests and the freedom of nations, as opposed to increasingly strong left-liberal federalist ideas, which envision a European United States, which, knowing the history of our continent, is completely unrealizable.
Well, then, according to the federalists, we must forget history, faith, religion, gender, culture and support migration that is inexperienced in all of these, and even hostile, in order to create a more mixed and colorful empire, led by the amazingly rich and influential elites. No one should ever know where the Good Lord lives!
I think that today's unprincipled opposition mix would lead the country to this risky game if it were to come to power. It is worth looking at the table above, which only contains some data on the actions of the previous governments of the national government and today's opposition.
