After Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced the holding of the child protection referendum, Párbeszéd immediately convened an online press conference. Gergely Karácsony, however, backed off as quickly as they started with great momentum: half an hour later, they canceled the press event. We (Origo) asked the press department of the left-wing party about the reason for the backward face, but we did not receive an answer to our question until the publication of our article. Left-wing parties on the side of the international LGBTQ lobby against Hungarian children were completely confused by the news of the referendum. UPDATE: later it was held, but in a closed circle, i.e. Gergely Karácsony did not want to answer the questions of non-leftist media.

At 12:14 p.m., the press department of Párbeszéd informed our editorial office that Gergely Karácsony and party director Olivio Kocsis-Cake As usual, the time of the event was also given, with 2:30 p.m. as the start time.

In comparison, it was somewhat unexpected that half an hour later, at 12:47 to be precise, we received another letter in which the party center canceled the press event without giving any reason.

Since this type of back-face is not considered common, we asked Párbeszéd why the press conference was missed. Until the publication of our article (2021.07.21. 16:36), however, we did not receive a response from Gergely Karácsony, so for now we can only speculate about the reason for the withdrawal. It seems certain that it has something to do with the child protection referendum initiated by the government.

Of course, the reason for their confusion and running away is also the fact that they realized that nothing would come of their own smiling referendum initiative. In addition, their clumsily asked frivolous questions are completely weightless compared to the government's questions that raise real problems. According to ATV's report, even the left-wing international lawyer, Tamás Lattmann, said that nothing would come of the Karácsony referendum.

As is well known, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced that , as a result of the stronger than ever international attack against Hungary, Hungarians can decide in a referendum whether they want their children to be treated with sexual propaganda in schools.

The left was clearly confused by the announcement , their politicians made contradictory statements. For example, Ferenc Gyurcsány, the president of the Democratic Coalition (DK), started insulting Viktor Orbán's parents, and Momentum president András Fekete-Győr called for abstention from the vote. Based on the first reactions, however, what seems certain is that the left-wing parties are trying to favor the LGBTQ lobby instead of protecting children.

After excluding the non-leftist media, Karácsony still held a "press conference". He made sure: he did not call a medium who could have asked him an unpleasant question.
