Despite the fact that, according to the globalist opposition, the Hungarian government does nothing for anyone in the world, such as for having children, for improving the situation of families, the facts refute this lie.
In a statement, the minister without portfolio responsible for families detailed and proved with numbers the success of the government's family support efforts. Katalin Novák said:
"For ten years, the national government has considered supporting families as one of its main goals, because we consider families to be the cornerstone of the nation.
Family subsidies are constantly expanding, more and more money remains with families, their livelihood is more secure, and there are fewer obstacles to creating a home and having children. The desire to start a family and the number of marriages increase in parallel with the expansion of family subsidies. Compared to 2010 in the European Union, the number of marriages and the desire to have children increased the most in Hungary. International interest in Hungarian family policy is also constantly growing.
Although the pandemic made life difficult for everyone, the trust in government assistance for starting a family and raising children was not shaken. The main reason for this is that, unlike the left, the civil government has not abolished any family support, it strives for predictability and planability. In Europe, the Hungarian government spends the most on families, nearly 5% of GDP. The fact that since 1986 there have not been as many marriages in Hungary as now is a reason for hope, marriages are also more stable, and the number of divorces has not been so low since 1962.
People's faith in the family has increased: the number of marriages has almost doubled since 2010, while 37% fewer people have divorced, and the desire to have children has increased by nearly 24%. The latest data also prove that, despite the coronavirus epidemic, many people dared to say yes to living together, since according to the latest data from the National Statistics Office, the number of marriages increased again compared to the first six months of the previous year. In January-June 2021, 31,765 couples got married, which is 18.6% or 4,991 more than a year earlier, and 31.9% more than the data for January-June 2019 (24,088 couples). This may also be due to the fact that vaccination was available earlier in Hungary compared to European countries, a significant part of the protective measures could be removed sooner, so it was easier to organize weddings.
The government still wants to return the results of economic growth to families. The government's plan is that if we succeed in raising economic growth above 5.5 percent, we will refund the taxes paid this year to parents raising children up to the level of the average salary. We are also waiting for opinions on this possibility in the national consultation."
In a video on the minister's Facebook page, precisely in view of the increase in the desire to have children, he drew attention to the fact that the government supports the establishment of workplace and family crèches, while also helping parents. He wrote this:
"Parents returning to work who place their children in non-municipal family nurseries, workplace nurseries, nurseries or mini nurseries can still apply for HUF 40,000 support. One parent can receive financial support for several children. The application can be submitted to the Hungarian State Treasury in electronic form: https://tcs.allamkincstar.gov.hu/ginop-projektek.html
