All those who work for the development of the country, for the modernization of the domestic agriculture and food industry, for the renewal of education, research and science are following in the footsteps of our founding king, and the nation is strengthened, said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy on the occasion of the feast of St. Stephen, the founder of the state, on August 20 at the awards and innovation award ceremony in Vigado, Pest. Magyar Hírlap coverage.
The minister drew attention to the fact that thanks to the government's economic protection measures, the conscientious work of farmers, agricultural professionals, scientists and researchers, we were able to overcome the three waves of the epidemic.
All of this is confirmed by the results of the summer harvest, from which we can read future development directions, the benchmarks of competitive agriculture, quality, agricultural modernization, irrigation and investments. István Nagy emphasized that the yield of winter wheat set a historical record this year.
According to the head of the ministry, in the past decade, the wave of immigration following the global financial and economic crisis was closely followed by the three waves of the coronavirus epidemic, which we bravely faced and defeated together. The combined effect of all this swept away a familiar, old world, in its place we now have to build a new one.
"Just as our founding king, Szent István, did a thousand years ago. What is at stake now is the preservation of Hungarianness and the protection of national self-determination," emphasized István Nagy.
According to the head of the ministry, on the occasion of the national holiday, we should congratulate all those who are outstanding in their field, and who, with their profession and life path, set an example for the younger generations to follow.
