The former prime minister envisages street fights in the event of a left-wing victory in 2022.
"There was a bridge seizure in 2002 as well, after 2006 our side definitely lost one thing, its naivety and good faith towards Fidesz. Scenarios are being prepared to preserve stability in this situation. The change of government itself has no criminal consequences. Ferenc Gyurcsány told szeged.hu
According to the former prime minister, "if a political party identifies itself with the country, then it lays the groundwork to legitimize action against the new government in the event of a defeat. This has actually already happened”. He believes that “this is the biggest danger”.
Gyurcsány added: "It is in the interest of the country that the transfer of power takes place peacefully. It is also one of the cornerstones of democratic constitutionalism. A part of the Fidesz camp has shown twice so far that it is very difficult to swallow the frog in the outlined case".
In response to the journalist's suggestion, the President of DK said: they are preparing for the possibility that there will be no peaceful transfer of power. "Obviously, we can't say now how we're going to prepare in case things don't happen that way. Our specialists prepare the political, public security and legal scenario if the change of power is not peaceful," declared Gyurcsány.
