"It's inhumane that Orbán took part of the Paralympics' pension!" - shouts Klára Dobrev into the world wide web, asking the chilling question: "What could be in the place of Viktor Orbán's heart?" - Francesca Rivafinoli begins her article on the vasarnap.hu portal.

But before we quote some thoughts, let's see what DK posted.

"All men are equal, right? Is it true that everyone gets the same reward for the same performance? Of course, it should be!

With this in mind , our government decided before the 2004 Summer Games in Athens that it would not differentiate between the awards for Olympic and Paralympic winners. Also in Beijing, in 2008, Olympians and Paralympians received the same amount of rewards.

However, before the 2012 London Games, the Orbán government reduced the Paralympic rewards. For him, only stars, glitz and ostentation have value. Our heroes are our Olympic medalists for a reason, we look up to them and respect them for a reason.

But at least as much as heroes are the athletes with limited mobility who overcome their congenital or acquired handicaps and bring joy to sports lovers and glory to Hungarians at the Paralympics.

The Orbán government is pushing countless billions into competitive sports, and in the meantime it is saving on the winners of the Paralympics. I wonder what could be in the place of Viktor Orbán's heart?

Needless to say, after the change of government, we will also wash away this disgrace: The remuneration of Olympians and Paralympians will be the same again! Because they deserve it equally, we love and appreciate them equally!

He illustrated all of this with a picture of the group of Paralympians with a dk logo, of course. Who did you get permission from in Tokyo? The question is, as well, how many of those in the picture are happy that they are in a photo with the inscription dk.

Well, let's move on and quote some thoughts from Francesca Rivafinoli's writing.

According to Klára Dobrev, the Orbán government "reduced" the Paralympic rewards in 2012, in fact, their government (as she puts it: "our government") in 2004 and 2008 gave the same amount of money to the Paralympic winners as to the Olympians.

In this case, the routine news consumer - after having been shocked again by the amount of shameless gossip that can be concentrated in a single married couple - looks up three things with a few simple clicks: 1) did the reward really "decrease" in 2012, 2) how are we doing? currently, and 3) what is the situation in other, much more developed and equality-oriented countries. The Netherlands, for example, or Canada, things like that. For the sake of the game, the answers can be enveloped in advance.

So let's get to it. In 2008, the gold medalists were awarded HUF 20 million. As a working hypothesis, we can assume that if the evil government took a part of it in 2012, then the amount provided to the Paralympics was lower that year. However, we can see that in 2012, the award went up to 23 million. And 23, no matter how you look at it, is in no way less than 20.

There are two possibilities: Orbán even stole the decrease to make it an increase, or Dobrev did not reveal all the elements of the truth.

The fact that although the Paralympians' rewards were increased by millions this year, the Olympians received even more, but also the fact that the "annuity" referred to in the Facebook post as a synonym for a one-time reward is a completely different benefit, the amount of which is the same for athletes and para-athletes - they get exactly the same amount every month until they die, nobody took anything away.

Just as it is no coincidence that nowadays deaf athletes are also rewarded on merit - not like, for example, in 2009, when the contestants of the Deaflympics, who were preparing without any state support, had "a plastic comb, two ballpoint pens, a notepad, a set of screwdrivers" in their bag as a reward and they found a beer opener" (this happened at the time when the budget support for organizations of people with disabilities was also reduced by 50-75 percent in a very social way, but of course who remembers that). In 2011, the state spent nearly HUF 500 million to retroactively compensate deaf athletes. If Klára Dobrev calls the coalition before 2010 "our government", then it is incomprehensible why she did not act with her heart of gold and why she only now explains on Facebook that "all people are equal", therefore "we value them equally" .
