Registration for the support of events in small settlements has closed, the Prime Minister's Office announced on Tuesday. As they wrote, the demand for restarting life is indicated by the outstanding interest in supporting municipal events in small settlements, more than 98 percent of the beneficiaries applied.
Regarding the details, it was announced that the maximum gross non-refundable support of one million forints will be received by the municipalities submitting all requests , within one week after the conclusion of the contract with the National Institute of Culture, which is a state public service provider, and the submission of the necessary documents.
In order to restart community and cultural life, the government has decided to provide resources within the framework of the Hungarian Village Program for all settlements with fewer than 5,000 permanent residents according to the records of the Ministry of the Interior on January 1, 2021, for the organization of municipal events. Applications could be submitted until August 30.
Municipalities have until April 30, 2022 to implement the events. The support will also cover the cost of organizing the village days authorized since June 14, 2021, the announcement states.
