The weekend jamboree of the villa residents was remembered by many media outlets, but if the transcript of what was said is not surreal enough, you can watch the gross two and a half hour long event on the Facebook page of the Democratic Coalition. However, there is something here that we do not deal with enough, that does not receive adequate emphasis in relation to the communication of the Gyurcsány party, including the Greek fire-stained campaign opening, and this is the language policy.
He who owns the language, owns the power - they say, but in everyday life we tend to ignore this eternal truth. However, it would be good to pay attention to how the most unscrupulous and at the same time the most successful domestic representatives of the "I go there and lose" mentality communicate and with what concepts they operate on the "eve" of the 2022 elections.
With his only twenty-minute speech, Ferenc Gyurcsány himself took relatively little out of the marathon event, but it is still worth observing what words he wanted to use to elicit an emotional impact from his audience - in the absence of rational arguments. This reveals more than trying to interpret his often incoherent train of thought, but we will return to this.
In his speech, the former prime minister used the term "homeland" most often, 18 times to be exact, and if we also include the term "nation", which he mentioned four times, then we can say that every 0.9 minutes Gyurcsány tried to convince his audience that the content that these concepts covered, beats in his innocent heart and lives in the soul of a dove. Still, who dares to think that he does not smear his country with himself, but rather lets it be appropriated by the national side? Come on, please! He does not allow this, even though it actually means nothing to him, rather it is just a hump on his back, together with the three million fascists led by Orbán.
The terms "truth" (2), "honesty" (7) and "honor" (3) were used a total of 12 times during the twenty minutes, while "(Hungarian) country" was used nine times. This time, of course, without the adjective that became common knowledge from the Ószöd speech. This was followed by the phrase "man" uttered six times, and "Europe/European Union" uttered five times in a tie, "life/to live" and finally "kidnapped/national kidnapper". The latter, of course, did not appear as a confession.
It is worth quoting the closing words of the former prime minister in their entirety and verbatim:
"In the name of the Eucharist, I do not promise forgiveness, because I do not forgive those who robbed, insulted and destroyed my country in the last 12 years. But in the name of sanity, decency and constitutionality, I say: they will be lucky. Because a decent power, a decent, independent judiciary will be the one to beat them, not us. Believe me, they do better than we do.”
The self-contradiction cannot be resolved, since the entire campaign opening was about the fact that they will win next year's elections and that a new coalition government will be formed under the leadership of DK. In this case, how can it fit in a sentence that their judiciary will be fair and independent, but they themselves will not? At the very least, "they do better than we do" suggests that they would cut the throats of their opponents to their heart's content, but at the very least they would drag us to a lamp post. On the other hand, it is reassuring that the justice system they founded - say, under the patronage of Csaba Czeglédy - will at least be fair and independent.
Klára Dobrev, resplendent in red to her feet, as the protagonist of the event, understandably spent more time on stage than her life partner, inspiring the followers of the family sect for exactly 37 minutes, and used the expressions "government/change of government" most often - of course only after mentioning Orbán's name in various constellations – exactly 43 times, i.e. every 0.8 minutes, he reminded his listeners of the bright future ahead of them. Given the average age, he certainly needed it, before the masses forgot why he came together.
This was followed by "strength", which was mentioned 23 times, and surprisingly, the triumvirate of "honesty/honour/truth", which was mentioned 22 times, was also on the podium. The female candidate mentioned the country 20 times, the EU or international aspects 12 times, and felt the need to emphasize 10 times that her governance will be about knowledge/understanding/professionalism.
"If we don't deal with the Orbán regime, then the Orbán regime will deal with us" -
said the third-generation Klára, and in light of the fact that it is the economic power of the Arpó-Dobrev-Gyurcsány clan that survived the regime change unscathed and has been unbroken ever since, it is more than thought-provoking. Are there really people who believe them rather than their own eyes? Of course, the question is poetic, because as the attached figure shows - what is it, really!
12 years have passed since the destructive government of Klára Dobrev's husband and his forced resignation, and the candidate is now a European Union representative, and Gyurcsány is the leader of the strongest opposition party. And there should be room for self-criticism here, because this is indeed a heavy debt to the national government; even if Gyurcsány and his henchmen systematically disappeared the evidence between 2006 and 2009. The promised accountability has not been met, and now we have to face such a deformed child, behind which Gyurcsány is licking the corner of his mouth waiting for the repeated acquisition of political power.
Their use of words speaks volumes: it is not only aimed at the remnants of the right-wing and radical national voters, but their siren call reaches everyone who is even a little unsure. Our robbers and maimers have not given up the fight, they are lining up the opposition to take revenge in 2022 on all those who deprived them of their political power, be it the Fidesz potentate or just an average national voter. Let there be no doubt: what the Orbán government is now being accused of, they have either already committed or will commit if they come back to power. And it's up to us to make it happen.
