„Orbán censors the media in his country, ignores the will of the people, and accumulates wealth for himself and his cronies. Hungary is ranked as one of the least free and least democratic countries in the developed world," said Utah Senator Mitt Romney in his speech on the American Constitution Day.
Péter Szijjártó to Romney's outburst in his Facebook post:
"Mitt Romney launched a brutal attack on press freedom and democracy. He criticized an American television journalist because he expressed his own opinion about Hungary, which did not happen to coincide with the campaign of lies against our country by the liberal mainstream. And he accused the government of governing against the will of the people. Although the will of the people is expressed in the election, we have received two-thirds authorization three times in a row. In an electoral system where everyone has an equal vote, regardless of where they live.
NGOs that fear democracy and freedom of the press, a wake-up call!”
2022plus: The beauty of Romney's statement is that not a single word of it is true. This is a political (?) achievement that rivals that of the Hungarian opposition, that is, they do not tell the truth at any minute of the day. By the way, this Romney kid pretends to be a Republican, but during Trump's presidency he attacked the then administration as a true leftist. Of course, it is a mystery why Orbán envisioned censorship (the material must have been strong), from which he concludes that the will of the people is being ignored (how many times have national consultations been held in the very democratic USA, for example?).
As for freedom and democracy, well, the USA does not have these characteristics today. Where the social media sites of a still-reigning president are blocked, where LGBTQ rejecters are persecuted, where those who condemn the BLM movement also lose their jobs, where "sensitization" is imposed on church schools and where university students are fired because they dare to claim that they are biologically only there are two genders, male and female, how dare anyone talk about democracy and freedom?
Of course, in the country that we once looked up to, that we envied, but that can only be destined for today, we shouldn't expect fair statements from the left-wing (even if it claims to be right-wing) unfortunates.
What kind of country is it where you could elect a demented old man as the head of the empire, not just through any series of frauds? (The one who confused his granddaughter with his dead son before the vote, who later spoke of his vice-president as president, tripped and stumbled on the steps of the presidential plane, fell asleep in the company of the Israeli prime minister...let me not continue.) What kind of country withdraws its troops from Afghanistan without just he leaves behind a modern arsenal of weapons, but gives the list of Afghans who cooperated with him to the Taliban, almost offering: here, they can be executed. What country is it whose military experts judge that the government forces can hold out for at least half a year, and then they can't do it for half an hour?
America has lost its authority once and for all, and if their bankruptcy were not depressing, we might even find out about it. Well, the representatives of such a bankrupt crowd should hide at home and shed crocodile tears over the fall of their country, the bankruptcy of their democracy, and the disregard of their freedom, but don't dare to educate the truly free, democratic and stronger states every day.
America is fighting to the death. It would be time to tell your politicians about this, to see if there is still a chance for a life-saving intervention at the last moment. However, one thing is certain: this is not to be expected from Romney figures.
