The first maternal cooperatives have been established, there are already four of them in the country, Lajos Kósa (Fidesz), member of parliament, president of the National Council of Cooperatives, told MTI on Tuesday.
The Fidesz politician reminded us that the legislation on the establishment of maternity cooperatives entered into force on the first of July this year, and a few have already been established: the very first was in Veszprém, but there are already maternity cooperatives in Somogy county, Pest county and Csongrád-Csanád county with a total of 100-200 member.
It is a great pleasure that the expectant mothers reacted so quickly and I really hope that this form of cooperative can have just as good a career as pensioner cooperatives and student cooperatives, he noted. He added: the maternity co-operative helps mothers who are on maternity leave to return to the labor market in an extremely flexible way. They can work freely and flexibly in the community, and the industry also needs this flexibility, since there are industries where entrepreneurs are already struggling with labor shortages, said Lajos Kósa.
