"In today's unstable world, the European Union is more important than ever, so everything must be done to preserve its unity," declared Armin Laschet at the last campaign event of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in Aachen, reports Portfolio. The party's chancellor candidate also added that there are discussions about the rule of law in the European Union, but we will not be able to hold Europe together without Poland, Central Eastern Europe, the Baltic states and Hungary. That is why he believes that Poland and Hungary should be given a peace treaty.
