According to János Volner, what Péter Jakab did was a surreal mixture of the pathetic and the creepy.
"As we wrote about this before, Péter Jakab performed badly in the primary election. Perhaps by now it is becoming clear that he and his party have entered a vacuum. If we look at the long-term process, under the leadership of Jakab, Jobbik committed an unprecedented betrayal of the national side in modern Hungarian political history. Jobbik, under his leadership, systematically wiped its feet in everything that is sacred to a national-minded political community, and for which it was worth fighting for the nationalistic Jobbik in the "hero era". Jobbik has written itself off the national side for years, but the punishment has been delayed.
In fact, the Jakabs dared to be so rude that they even threatened and "betrayed" anyone who, as an old right-winger, did not ask for their virtigli Bolshevik policy. Jakab's Jobbik turned Facebook into a forum for psychological red terror for many months. Together with his staff, he foolishly believed that it would be enough to humiliate Tibor Szamuely or György Marosán, to threaten the "people", and to push Hungarian public life, which is not in the House of Lords anyway, under the back of the miner's frog with old performances.
What Péter Jakab did was a very surreal mixture of the pathetic and the creepy. In recent times, the emphasis has shifted towards the latter. There was something very present in this behavior that older people can even remember personally, and which we thought we got rid of for good in 1989-90. Not even the communist successor parties, the MSZP or the DK, dared/wanted to take on this New Bolshevik style with such openness."
