"There is no reason that anyone anywhere in America should have to talk about transgenderism, homosexuality or any kind of filth in front of children," North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson said earlier. 888.hu reported on the prank campaign launched against him.
Mark Robinson spoke at the Asbury Baptist Church in Seagrove, North Carolina, where he described "transgenderism" and homosexuality as filth and condemned their teaching in schools.
"There is no reason that anyone anywhere in America should be talking about transgenderism or homosexuality or any kind of filth in front of children," Robinson said. – “And yes, I called him filth. And if you don't like what I called it, come and look around.”
North Carolina Democratic Senator Jeff Jackson "of course" immediately called for Robinson's resignation over his comments, as Roy Cooper and the White House condemned Robinson.
In a recent interview with WRAL-TV, Robinson said he would not apologize for his comments and pointed out the double standards in politics.
“They will not intimidate you. We won't back down. We will not change our language. I am not ashamed of the words I used. I will continue to use it in the future because it is time again for parents to take a strong stand for their children. "
Later he also said:
"I'm sick and tired of people on the right being demonized for speaking out, while people on the left are setting fires, fighting, robbing, looting — occupying entire cities and getting away with it."
Robinson responded to the growing online outrage in a video posted to Facebook on Saturday. He explained that he does not hate LGBTQ people, but opposes sexualized curriculum in public schools, transgender and other "sexual" promotion materials.
"Let me be clear here and now: I will not back down. I will not be silenced… I will continue to fight for the rights of our children to receive an education that is free of sexist concepts in the classroom. And I don't care who doesn't like it.”
