On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of his birth, the Kálmán Kittenberger statue erected in the street named after him opposite the synagogue in Léva was unveiled. The bust of the world-famous hunter and scientist is the work of the Hungarian sculptor Tibor Túri Török.
The artwork was presented three years ago by Tibor Túri Török the Léva City Beautification Society led by Csaba Tolnai Until the bust's worthy place was found, it found a temporary home in the Reviczky Ház, which houses the Hungarian organizations and community life in Léva. The artist had a close friendship with the recently deceased Csaba Tolnai, the former deputy mayor of Léva.

Kálmán Kittenberger spent a total of 16 years in Africa six times and enriched the zoological collections of the Hungarian National Museum with more than 60,000 specimens. His collection contained about 300 new animal species, almost forty of which were named after him. He remembered his years in Africa in his readable books, full of twists and turns. In his writings, in addition to the professional aspects of hunting, he paid particular attention to the detailed description of the natural environment, the lifestyle, customs and society of the African peoples.
