The number of people on ventilators due to the coronavirus is over 100 again, so the Hungarian Medical Chamber draws the public's attention to the strong presence of the 4th wave of the epidemic and its possible consequences.
By applying some measures together, it is possible to avoid the repeated introduction of closures similar to last year, and the drastic increase in the number of cases and deaths. The number of coronavirus cases already increased at the end of summer, and this trend has continued and worsened ever since. The new delta variant spreads faster and more aggressively than previous mutations.
The experience of European countries shows that the 4th wave of the epidemic primarily affects the unvaccinated. The Hungarian Medical Chamber tries to guide the public with the following four steps. By using them together, we can greatly reduce the spread of the virus.
1. VACCINATION
It is still the number one defense tool against the virus! Taking the vaccine significantly reduces the number of coronavirus infections and deaths.
2. MASK
Indoors, we are all especially exposed to the risk of infection, so in closed spaces, such as shops, stores, theaters, cinemas, restaurants, etc. let's keep wearing masks! The time of the flu epidemic is approaching, and the combined presence of the two types of pathogens makes this individual defense particularly important. The mask worn against the COVID infection also protects against the flu!
3. KEEPING A DISTANCE
If possible, keep a distance of at least two meters from our fellow human beings!
4. HAND WASHING
Pay attention to regular and thorough hand washing! These are the 4 steps that we can take ourselves to prevent the spread of the epidemic and protect our health. In order to prevent the spread of the epidemic, the extensive use of the protection card is also necessary as a government measure. The Chamber emphasizes: we can only reduce the spread of the virus by working together, by applying the above points together!
Let's do this minimum so that the country does not stop again! Let's take care of each other!
MOK also calls on participants in the service sector to download, print and use our warning signs if they have the opportunity, thus contributing to curbing the epidemic. The boards can be downloaded from the chamber's website.
