The CitizenGo organization initiated a signature collection on behalf of former Finnish interior minister Paivi Rasanen, a Christian Democrat politician who was attacked by a so-called human rights organization and sued by the Finnish attorney general because of a biblical quote.

The woman who stood up for her faith came under fire after she shared some verses from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle With this, the politician tried to remind the Finnish Lutheran Church of the teaching, as priests also joined Pride. However, the legal defenders pounced on the case, the police launched an investigation, and the prosecutor's office finally brought charges against the politician.

Citing chapter 27 of the Epistle to the Romans, the Christian Democrat politician asked the following question: "The church of which I am a member has announced that it is an official partner of Helsinki Pride 2019. How can the doctrines of the church be summed up with those parts of the Bible, according to which shame and sin rise as a result of pride?"
"24 Therefore, according to the desire of their hearts, God gave them over to uncleanness, let them dishonor their own bodies. 25 God's righteousness was exchanged for falsehood, and they worshiped the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 That is why God gave them over to their own shameful passions. Their women replaced the natural habit with an unnatural one. 27 Similarly, men stopped living naturally with women, and lusted after each other, that is, male-male abomination. But they also received the deserved wages of their error." (Romans 1:24-27)
Räsänen posted this quote on his social media page. This criminal procedure is also proof that Christians are severely persecuted in Western society. And this is already found in every country - freedom of speech and freedom of religion and its public practice are restricted mainly to Christians. The case of Päivi Räsänen is unprecedented. If he were convicted, the printing and sale of Bibles would be de facto banned in Finland, the right of churches to speak publicly about the truth of human sexuality would be suppressed, and Christians would not be allowed to hold public office if they expressed their views on family and marriage because they would face criminal charges away. This would be just the beginning of the modern persecution. After that, any LGBTQ activist can sue Christians for their faith. ” writes CitizenGo.
Regarding the criminal proceedings initiated against her after three police interrogations, the former Minister of the Interior said: " This is about freedom of religion and freedom of expression. If these writings are banned, they will be able to ban a lot more. Next will come the modern book burnings... The apostle Paul's teaching is not only about protecting the marriage between a man and a woman, but about how a person is saved in eternal life. If we reject the teaching of God's word about sin, then Christianity becomes completely empty"
Charges were brought against the Finnish Christian Democrat politician for three counts of crime, because by sharing lines from the Bible, she "threatened, insulted and defamed homosexuals", said the chief prosecutor , who says that the former interior minister deserves to be punished, be it a fine or even a prison sentence.
(2022plus: In our opinion, it is the Finnish attorney general who should be put behind bars. True, we are not thinking of a prison cell, but a peaceful place where the patient can rest...)
CitizenGo staff recently visited the woman fighting for her faith and handed her the 200,000 signatures supporting her cause. In a petition written to the above-mentioned Attorney General, the organization stood up for freedom of religion, speech and opinion, calling on the certainly ultra-liberal lady to drop the charges.
Paivi Rasanen thanked those who prayed for him in a short video message.
