The Hungarian farmers showed that the leaven of togetherness is stronger than anything else - stressed the wife of the President of the Republic at the donation ceremony of the Magyarok Kenyere - 15 million grains of wheat program in the Carpathian Basin, on Thursday at Martonvásár in Fejér County.
Anita Herczegh, the wife of the President of the Republic, the guest of honor and main patron of the event, explained about the charity event organized by the Magyarok Kenyere Alapítvány, the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy (NAK) and the Association of Hungarian Farmers' Associations and Farmers' Cooperatives (MAGOSZ):
The organizers "bring to the surface a deep living knowledge" that we are each other's brothers, and they have been acting accordingly for a decade when they participate in the donation program, giving bread and flour to those who really need it.
Anita Herczegh pointed out that the donors have a common goal of alleviating the hunger of orphaned and deeply poor children. He added: in the midst of the pandemic, when "hopelessness knocked me in more and more places", they persevered all the way through and gave even more by teaming up.
Árpád János Potápi, the state secretary responsible for national policy, emphasized that the national policy, which has characterized the policy of the Hungarian government since 2010, serves to strengthen togetherness. As he said, countless initiatives were launched during this period, and today we can speak of a unified Hungarian nation, which is well characterized by the Magyarok Kenyere Program.
The state secretary indicated that since the beginning of the program, the amount of donations has increased from 10 tons to more than 110 tons, the number of donating farmers has increased in parallel, and now there are more than eight thousand, half of the donors are Hungarian farmers across the border.
Balázs Győrffy, the president of the NAK, mentioned that in the year of the national restart, they had in mind that everyone would have plenty of fragrant, white, crispy bread, to which the Hungarian farmers from here and beyond the border contributed significantly.
István Jakab, the vice-president of the Parliament and the president of MAGOSZ, they give selfless donations from people who think responsibly for their nation. He emphasized that the program has become one of the pillars of nation building, which not only provides bread, gifts and support, but also strengthens the spirit and faith in people.
One of the prominent donors, Father Csaba Böjte, expressed his joy that the many millions of wheat grains were not sold through shops, but were sown in the furrows of love, from which many values grow: hope, trust, faith in tomorrow.
