Hungary fulfills its natural duty when it supports Transcarpathian Hungarians - stated Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén, when together with Transcarpathian Hungarian politicians, local government and education leaders, he handed over the renovated building of the Beregszászi Training Center of the Egán Ede Vocational Training Center with Hungarian government support.

In October 2018, the building of the former Russian-language school in Beregsasz, which had been vacant for twenty years and was completely destroyed, was leased for 49 years from the local government. Ferenc Rákóczi Transcarpathian Hungarian College. As a result of renovation and development worth 123 million hryvnias (almost 1.5 billion forints) carried out in the building with a floor area of about five thousand square meters and the two-hectare area attached to it, nearly 500 students will receive vocational training in Hungarian this year thanks to the support of the Hungarian state.

Zsolt Semjén explained about the support of the Hungarian college in Beregszasz, which has been successfully operating for a quarter of a century: "the Hungarian government is not doing favors when it supports this school and Transcarpathian Hungarians, but it is fulfilling its natural duty". As he put it, if any part of the nation disappears, the universal Hungarianness will be mutilated.

The Hungarian constitution states that "Hungary bears responsibility for Hungarians abroad", he said, and then, speaking of Hungarian-Ukrainian relations, he pointed out: Hungary was one of the first to recognize Ukraine's independence, and the Parliament in its resolution

According to his words, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made very serious efforts to get the visa exemption accepted in the European Union. "What a pity that the education law that threatens Hungarian institutions was passed in Ukraine within a short period of time after the visa exemption was accepted," Zsolt Semjén reminded the audience of the reasons for the deterioration of relations between the two countries.

"When we support Transcarpathian Hungarians, we thereby support all nationalities and the majority nation here in Transcarpathia," explained the politician. As he put it: the solution would be for the Hungarian nationality to be a native minority in Transcarpathia, which would be in the common interest not only of the local Hungarians, but of the whole of Ukraine.

Regarding the newly handed over vocational training center, Zsolt Semjén expressed his conviction that the institution preserves the Hungarian identity, culture, language, and at the same time provides a profession and thus a livelihood for the students here.

Anatolij Poloskov , the president of the county administrative office, praised the educational achievements of the Berezhsasz college and presented diplomas to the leaders of the institution in recognition of their activities.

Russian Ildikó , II. Ferenc Rákóczi, president of Transcarpathian Hungarian College, pointed out that the institution survived difficult years from an economic and political point of view, but thanks to its supporters, it has remained on its feet until now, becoming a defining educational and cultural center of Transcarpathian Hungarians. He thanked all those who contributed to the college's activities.
