At the presentation of the development supported by them, in the downtown elementary school in Dombóvár, the State Secretary for National Policy, János Árpád Potápi, spoke about the fact that with the help of the new tasks, students living in Hungary, in the foreign regions of the Carpathian Basin and in the diaspora can get to know Transylvania, the Highlands, the Vojvodina, the Subcarpathians, the values, environment, literature and history of Croatia and the Mura region.
The digital platform has been expanded with more than five hundred new multimedia tasks, which were designed by almost fifty teachers selected with the involvement of teacher organizations across the border, he said. Hungarian education pays more and more attention to patriotic education , thanks to the Boundless program, the students who participated in it already see the nation as unified.
Thanks to the Sister Settlement program, thousands of connections in the Carpathian Basin have been strengthened in recent years, and in the Without Borders program, Hungarian seventh grade and high school students can visit areas inhabited by Hungarians abroad.
Dóra Szűcs , managing director of Okos Doboz Kft., said that the content of the educational portal, which has been available for public education for free since 2016, has been used in foreign regions since the beginning. In the 2019/2020 academic year, the number of users across the border increased: 20 percent of the 21 million tasks solved were solved by Hungarian students abroad, he added.
Representatives of the Hungarian organizations across the border that participated in the planning were present at the presentation. Irén Fekete , president of the Slovak Hungarian Teachers' Association (SZMPSZ), emphasized that the expansion of the digital education portal is a significant step towards the creation of a unified Hungarian education space.
