"All athletes have the right to participate in sports without discrimination and in a manner that respects their health, safety and dignity," the new directive says. "At the same time, the credibility of competitive sport - and particularly high-level sporting events - also depends on being able to compete on a level playing field, where no athlete has an unfair or disproportionate advantage over others."
What's wrong with you? How could a woman who is actually a man have an unfair and disproportionate advantage in competitive sports?
Of course, the leaders of the IOC may not have been motivated by mental illness, they were just scared of the aggressive gender lobby and scared to do what a sane person would never do: they believed that a man could become a woman.
