The Young Families Club (Ficsak) collects for the benefit of the Girl, Mother, Child Foundation together with about thirty domestic family organizations in the Family Organizations VI. As part of the Advent Fair and Collection, the Lea Otthon Family Transitional Home will be supported from the amount received - it was announced at the event's press conference on Monday.
Nóra Király, the founder of Ficsak, announced that due to the epidemic situation, the collection will be held online this year, just like last year. Advent wreaths made by the main patron of the campaign, Anita Herczegh, the wife of the President of the Republic, and their daughter, Júlia Áder, can be purchased at the fair, he explained.
The entire proceeds of their Advent collection this year will be used to build a new family home, which will provide full care and shelter to families in need. Due to the epidemic situation, he called it particularly important that victims of domestic violence receive help. Ficsak's goal is to be able to collect at least one and a half million forints for this purpose, he indicated.
Turning to the programs, he said that donors are expected on Friday at the Ficsak XI. to the garden of the district center, where, among other things, there will be wreath-making and gingerbread baking.
Zsolt Nyitrai, the prime minister's representative responsible for special cases, said: it is already a tradition for family organizations to unite and organize charity collections during the Advent period. At the same time, he called this kind of cooperation, as well as joint thinking and action, extremely exemplary.
There are more than 60,000 non-governmental organizations, associations and foundations operating in Hungary - he indicated, then emphasized that those that represent social value and work for the realization of community goals can count on the support of the government.
According to Zsolt Nyitrai, the Hungarian government supports these civil organizations not only morally, but also financially. Since 2010, their state support has doubled, while in 2010 it was HUF 144 billion, today this amount has increased to HUF 354 billion, he added.
At the press conference, the singer Heni Dér, a mother of a small child, participating in the initiative, said: "those for whom the collection is now taking place (.) are true heroes for me". He also touched on the importance of mothers in difficult situations having the courage to speak up and ask for professional help.
llona Gróh, the founder of Ringató, said, among other things, that their music and art education program for families with small children can give parents the kind of emotional reinforcement that those living in maternity homes really need. At the same time, Ilona Gróh invited families with small children to an online Christmas session on the Ringató Facebook page on November 28 from 10:30 a.m., where they can also support the collection with the price of one ticket.
The family organizations' Advent campaign started in 2016, and Ficsak organizes the collection every year in collaboration with several organizations. Year after year, the amount collected is used to help an organization whose work is extremely important in the lives of young children. In 2018, deaf and hard of hearing children, in 2019 children with heart disease, and in 2020 the Szent Márton Child Rescue Service were supported through the collection.
