A new railway station was created under the name Akadémiaújtelep.
The new railway station called Akadémiaújtelep, which is located on the Hatvani line, on the X. and XVII. were established close to the district border. For now, S80 trains running between Gödöllő and Keleti railway station will stop here every half hour. The stop was completed thanks to the renovations carried out in recent years - it can be seen from this that, while we are in the planning and preparation phase for many projects, in several locations (see between Keleti pályaudvar and Kőbánya felső, on the Connecting railway bridge and for example here) we have been working on it for the past months and years. The turnaround time of a large railway investment is 7-8 years, which is why we need to prepare many investments so that we can increase railway development in Budapest and its region in the coming years. - writes transport specialist Dávid Vitézi in his Facebook post.
The Budapest Agglomeration Railway Strategy, in addition to increasing the capacity and service level of suburban lines, creating and developing internal sections connecting them, tariff community, digitalization, also sets out the creation of many new stops, as trains today often pass through residential areas and important institutions without stopping. or just next to and above the lines of urban transport.
The Akadémiaújtelep will be a mixed-function stop, it will certainly be used by the residents of the eponymous garden district as well as by the customers of the commercial units lined up next to it, but the smaller P+R parking lot with 21 spaces (+ 2 reserved for wheelchair users) intended only for the residents of the area will also be full. and there will be people who will transfer by bicycle or bus.
In the project, only the outer section of the 80a was renewed, in order to have significantly denser traffic on the line in line with the Budapest Agglomeration Railway Strategy, new tracks need to be laid. We are planning complete accessibility, construction of P+R parking lots and bike racks up to Gyömrő, and we are also investigating the establishment of several new stops. Similar to Akadémiaújtelep, the X. and XVII. Kőbánya-Kertváros and Madárdomb will be able to serve the district.
After the improvements, the railway can play a significantly greater role in the East-Pest area and the agglomeration connected to it than it does today, it will be possible to travel to the center of Budapest with four trains per hour from the most important stops."
