On the occasion of the election of Nicolae Ciucă as Prime Minister of Romania, Viktor Orbán expressed his congratulations in a letter, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister's press chief, told MTI on Saturday.

The Hungarian Prime Minister wrote to his Romanian counterpart: despite all the challenges of the past two years, the cooperation between the two countries has not lost its momentum, and the pandemic has shown that the neighbors can always count on each other in case of need. Viktor Orbán expressed his conviction that the development of economic, energy and transport relations can bring the two countries even closer and strengthen the political dialogue on bilateral and European issues. As he wrote, the Hungarian Prime Minister was pleased to learn that the RMDSZ will also participate as a coalition partner in the new Romanian government, to whose work it will provide added value with its experience and professionalism.

On Thursday, the parliament gave a vote of confidence to the Ciucă government, 318 of the in-laws present at the joint session of the Senate and the House of Representatives voted yes, 126 voted no. In any case, 234 votes would have been enough to install the government.
