The left-wing opposition and the media close to it are attacking the government by referring to the data of a non-existent organization, pointed out the vice-president of the Christian Democratic People's Party. According to Bence Rétvári, the Hungarian Social Forum criticizes the work of the cabinet based on fictitious numbers.

Bence Rétvári pointed out that the left-wing opposition and the press loyal to it regularly attack the government's social policy by referring to the fictitious numbers of a non-existent organization. The vice-president of the Christian Democratic People's Party (KDNP) in his social media post that the "Hungarian Social Forum" organization comes to the fore from time to time in connection with the number of our compatriots who have cooled down due to frostbite. The parliamentary state secretary of the Ministry of Human Resources stated that both opposition politicians and journalists "report the data that comes from them as facts without any criticism". According to the politician, meanwhile, they make it look as if it is a serious professional organization that provides data from an authentic source and in a verifiable manner.

In contrast, not only is it impossible to verify the data, but the organization itself does not exist, he writes. The Christian Democrat politician refers to birosag.hu's official NGO register and then points out that the Hungarian Social Forum simply does not exist according to the public database. Rétvári also checked the domain registry related to the organization's website, which revealed that the owner of the website is not a legal entity, but a private individual.

According to his conclusion

the main source of data for the entire Hungarian left-wing politics and press is a fake organization that does not even officially exist".

As he puts it, in the opposition field, "the fictitious data of this bogus organization are taken as cash week after week, and they attack the government on the basis of these fictitious data".

A short search reveals that, for example, Tímea Szabó also ran a political campaign on the subject, referring to the Hungarian Social Forum. In his post published on January 20 of last year, relying on unofficial data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, he wrote that 21 people froze to death in Hungary in 10 days. At the time, he wrote, "this is also why a change of government is necessary."

The organization does not even have an official profile on the largest social media site, only a group with two hundred members, updated every few days, operates under its name, in which users typically share content related to immigration policy. The group also contains posts that point to the "official" website of the Social Forum and present notices summarizing frostbite deaths, but these articles do not include the source from which the MSZF works. According to the counter available on their website, they are visited by about a thousand visitors per day.
