The bilingual guide "TokajGuide" was awarded the Best Wine Guide award in Paris at the end of November. Apart from the Olympics, there is no other world competition where so many nations are represented and compete, which is why TokajKalauz is a particularly big credit. Winners were announced in 26 categories from books in the "Beverage" category alone. euronews.com writes.
On November 29, the awards of the world's largest gastronomy book review, the Gourmand International Awards, were presented at the World Cookbook Fair in Paris. Ripka Gergely's bilingual TokajKalauza was among the best 4 books in the European Wine Book category in February, and then won the category's main prize. This success gives important publicity not only to the book, but also to the Tokaj wine region. The jury's finalists were selected for the award ceremony from 983 publications from 170 countries from all over the world.
"I never believed and never expected that my publication would ever be applauded. Tonight, here in Paris, I will toast with champagne, but the first thing I will do at home will be to open a Tokaj aszu, because both are the most worthy wines for festive occasions! Thank you for giving reason for both bottles in this beautiful, historic place," Gergely Ripka said in his speech.
The Gourmand International Awards have been held since 1995, this year it celebrated its 25th anniversary in Paris. Since its inception, it has reviewed more than 45,000 publications from 225 countries across various food and beverage categories.
TokajKalauz, which is published every two years by the author, is bilingual, and in addition to the 150 wineries of the wine region, it also lists the attractions of the wine region in unparalleled detail: restaurants, accommodations, places to go for excursions, historical sites, or even the most exciting events from the world heritage Tokaj wine region.
