The Hungarian position was clear and consistent throughout the deliberations, which lasted until dawn on Friday: the government rejects the imposition of new taxes on the Hungarian people, the Prime Minister stated in a video uploaded to his social media page.
„We almost lost our way on the most important issue, which was the issue of energy prices. We didn't even manage to agree with each other.
The Czechs, the Poles, the Slovaks and us Hungarians insisted that the rise in energy prices must be curbed , be it the price of electricity or gas”
Viktor Orbán said.
He added, " speculators must be excluded from the system and the results of the overhead reduction must be protected. It should not be allowed to introduce another energy tax, this time for home owners and car users. "
"The Battle Will Continue"
- concluded the Prime Minister's report.
