According to Boulevard Voltaire, families are supported in our country, not migration is encouraged
For the first time, Hungary can have a female head of state in the person of Katalin Novák - wrote the French Boulevard Voltaire about the nomination of the minister without portfolio responsible for families. The portal noted that the news is hardly received with general enthusiasm in feminist intellectual circles, because for them the concept of "conservative woman" is an oxymoron.
In the article, it was recalled that Katalin Novák, a mother of three children, has been responsible for family policy since 2014, first as a state secretary and then as a minister. They pointed out that the Hungarian family policy creates the financial conditions for all this, and the results are not far behind: the number of abortions has clearly decreased, but the number of marriages has increased and the birth rates are also improving. As far as family support is concerned, there is no reason to envy the Scandinavian welfare states either: Boulevard Volraite drew attention to the social security exemption for mothers with four children and the grandparents' allowance.
The goal is to increase the country's own population against population decline, instead of "fatalistically" setting immigration as the only possible solution.
According to the portal, the nomination of Katalin Novák is more than a marketing ploy on the part of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, as it is, on the one hand, recognition of the political courage of a woman who, with her talent and commitment, defended measures that could almost only be seen to be the opposite at the international level (given that instead of supporting childbearing, the encouragement of immigration the characteristic). On the other hand, Novák's recognition and acceptance goes beyond the camp of government supporters, which is important for holding the office of president of the republic.
According to Boulevard Voltaire, an important lesson is that in French politics, Katalin Novák would probably be the target of the persecution of the so-called enlightened, radical feminists, but in Hungary she was nominated for president of the republic.
