The European Parliament group of Fidesz explained in a statement how energy prices have developed in the EU, how residential energy costs have risen and how much more EU citizens will pay as a result of the failed energy policy in Brussels.
" According to Bank of America's analysis, utility bills in Europe may increase by an average of 54% The left would implement the utility bill increase in Hungary as well. However, we, on the national side, do not allow this: we maintain the utility reduction and protect Hungarians from the energy crisis.
The energy crisis caused by the failed Brussels climate and energy policy is also affecting European households. According to Bank of America analysts, in 2022 an average European family will have to spend 54% more on energy than in 2020. This means a monthly price increase of almost HUF 20,000.
It is absolutely certain that the left in Hungary would return to the path of self-surrender and carry out a similar level of overhead increases. In the European Parliament in 2021, their politicians opposed giving people access to energy in an affordable way, and since then they have been aggressively attacking citizens who support utility cuts and the measure every week.
However, the Hungarian people can count on Fidesz-KDNP in this battle. We, on the national side, also keep the interests of Hungarians in mind in energy policy. In this year's elections, the national policy of utility reduction will be opposed to the left-wing ideology resulting in rising energy prices. "
