With the appearance of the omicron virus mutation, the number of infections that can be detected on a daily basis increases, if not explosively. This weekend - in three days - 14,655 new infections were confirmed, i.e. the number of infections increased by an average of 5,000 per day.
Since the start of the epidemic, the number of identified infected people has increased to a total of 1,297,612. in the last three days were old, chronic patients , so the number of people who died rose to 39,947. The number of people who have recovered is constantly increasing, currently 1,145,770 people, and the number of active infected people has risen to 111,895 people. 2,931 coronavirus patients are being treated in hospital, 281 of them are on ventilators. The omicron virus variant is also spreading in Hungary. Tens of thousands of people were vaccinated during the first vaccination campaign in January, and the campaign will continue this week as well: on Thursday and Friday afternoons, as well as on Saturday, you can get vaccinated again without making an appointment at the hospital vaccination points and at the specialized clinics in the district centers. In addition, general practitioners also vaccinate.
