In Hungary, the number of vaccinated people is 6,297,101, of whom 6,039,940 received the second, and 3,299,569 received the third booster vaccination. 7,883 new infected people were confirmed, increasing the number of identified infected people to 1,308,877 since the start of the epidemic. 67 people died, most of them old, chronic patients, so the number of those who died rose to 40,083, koronavirus.gov.hu announced on Wednesday.
It was written on the government portal: the number of people who have recovered is constantly increasing, currently 1,149,849, and the number of active infected people has risen to 118,945. 2,758 coronavirus patients are being cared for in the hospital, of which 257 are on ventilators.
Attention was drawn to the fact that 29 percent of new infections are already caused by the omicron virus variant.
The vaccination campaign will continue this week: on Thursday and Friday afternoons, as well as on Saturday, you can get vaccinated again without making an appointment at the hospital vaccination points and at the specialized clinics in the district centers, they said.
