The Ministry of Human Resources (Emmi) and Szerencsejáték Zrt. signed a strategic partnership agreement to support the employment of people with disabilities.
Minister Miklós Kásler said that the government strives to ensure that everyone can work according to their abilities, and that this is extremely important for people with disabilities by creating suitable working conditions.
He added that this year the government is allocating HUF 50 billion more to promote the employment of people with disabilities, which is 10 percent more than the previous year. The minister stated that 44 percent of those affected - 160,000 people - are able to take up work on the labor market, this ratio was 18 percent in 2010.
Miklós Kásler emphasized that people with altered work ability receive a variety of support from the state, but so do employers who employ people with disabilities. The purpose of such collaborations is to share experiences, broaden the social outlook, and improve working conditions from the employers' and legislators' side, the minister added.
Alex Bozóky, CEO of Szerencsejáték Zrt., said that this cooperation is decisive in the life of the company, as they joined forces with the ministry for a noble cause. He said that the social responsibility objectives of Szerencsejáték Zrt. have been focused on the integration of people with disabilities for two decades, and they want to raise this to an even higher level, thus contributing to the realization of the government's goals.
The CEO reported that they operate a charity network selling lottery tickets, giving 160 people with disabilities jobs at 110 sales points in 67 settlements. He added that with this number of employees, 10 percent of the company's employees have a changed ability to work.
In addition, they want to provide disabled players with the highest level of service in lotteries and in the digital space in a customized way, he explained.
